A snowmobiler triggered this slide in the Taylor Fork. The slope failed when the rider was half way up, likely near the rocks in the middle. It failed at the ground and appears to be a heavily wind loaded slope. Photo I. Reule

    • Skiers outside of Cooke City observed surface hoar on all aspects and elevations on Friday. These feathery crystals aren't a problem on the surface, but once buried they can create dangerous avalanche conditions. This will be something to keep an eye out for once more snow falls.
