This snowpit was dug on a N-NW aspect slope at 8500 feet elevation. The snowdepth was 175 cm and they got ECTP 23 on a layer of facets 65 cm from the surface. They decided to not ski a steep couloir after digging this snowpit. Photo: D. Pogge
From an email, "Photo attached of some recent activity I observed in Pebble Creek today. These thin slides appeared like they ran prior to last night's 3" (and were probably tied to the events of that Fin avalanche/ the strong winds, and very warm temps from a few days ago). I observed 2 recent slab avalanches like the one pictured. Both were NE facing, approx 6-12" deep, and 20-50' wide. Both were mid slope. And I had a small collapse in some low angled shaded terrain adjacent." Photo and obs: B. Fredlund
