In the northern Bridger Range, a skier (1 of 3) triggered this avalanche but was not caught. It broke up to 4 feet deep and was 150-200 feet wide. They were "pushing it" according to one of the party. Luckily they got away with it, although barely. Photo: Anonymous

In the Bridger Range, skiers triggered a large slide in "Big Red" in Frazier Basin today. The avalanche in the background was a natural that occured beforehand. No one was caught or injured. Recent storm snow is not bonding well to the older surface. This avalanche did not break at the ground, it broke under the newer snow, much of it wind-loaded. Photo: Anonymous

A skier triggered this small wind slab near Lulu Pass outside of Cooke City. Although this slide isn't huge, it's a good reminder not to let your guard down. Photo. B. Van Wert
The snowpack on Henderson Bench outside Cooke CIty has almost 6 feet of snow depth. Weak snow at the ground is remaining stable and not beaking in our tests, but we have little confidence that it won't avalanche in the future. Photo: A. Fauver
