Bottom Line: Steady snowfall in the Southern Gallatin and Southern Madison Ranges, and Lionhead area delivered 21” since Saturday. With wind and significant snowfall on tap for today, dangerous avalanche conditions exist on all slopes. The stress from new and wind-drifted snow makes human-triggered avalanches likely. Careful snowpack evaluation, cautious route-finding and conservative decision-making are essential.
